Rose

Rose is great.  She pooped outside for the first time this morning.  It was a great experience for both of us not having it be on the floor!!!!   She is getting more used to her new home every day.  Last night she played with every single toy I bought for her.  She even instinctively plays fetch!  She seems a little shy when I first take her out of the crate and seems a little nervous when she hasn’t seen me for a little time when I’m standing.  So I get down on the floor with her and she comes straight up to me and gets more comfortable.  She loves the kid.  I think it’s cuz they’re the same size!!!  I am trying to leash train her and she hates it.  When I don’t have the leash on her she follows me everywhere but when I do she will not walk at all.  I want to be able to take her for long walks but I’m scared to without the leash.  I end up dragging her spread eagle for a little time saying walk (to get her used to the word) then I try to let her walk on her own with the leash.  Sometimes she does and sometimes she just lays down.  Is there anything you can suggest to make this easier?  I think today I am going to go get a harness to see if that is easier for her.  This morning with the poop was good.  I took her out for an hour after having her in the cage all night.  She didn’t go.  So I took her back in and put her in the cage while I showered for work.  I came back out and took her outside again.  She pooped within 10 minutes (which is good because I had to leave) and I gave her a treat.  She already has a friend.  There is a 1 year old dog that looks like yours that has been at the dog park twice now and they get along great, her name is Scarlett.  Bud never wants to leave when Scarlett is there.  She gets really excited to see her.  Also she is eating.  She didn’t really eat the first day.  I made a sandwich and sat on the floor and she came up to me not really trying to get the food but I think she understood I was eating.  So the next time I did it I put her blanket and her food next to me.  She came up and laid next to me realized I was eating and started eating her food.  Afterwards I put her food back in its normal place and later she went there and ate it no problem.  There has been a lot in the last few days for all of us and I could probably go on but she is a great dog and I’m glad she was the one we took home.
